Dr. Gold was unanimously selected to receive the 2025 Walter Scott, Jr., Citizen of the Year Award. Dr. Gold exemplifies all the qualities and integrity the award is named for, and he is an excellent representative of Scouting’s values. “The celebration promises to be unparalleled,” said Scouting America, Mid-America Council Chief Development Officer Joe Wiltrout. “This function supports Scouting, offers the community an opportunity to witness Dr. Gold’s achievements, and it is intentionally hosted on May 21st, which is the birthday of Walter Scott, Jr.—the namesake of this award.”
